Refilling in four easy steps
Shopping package free does not need to be hard, it can and should be for everyone. Start small, use what you have, start with one or two products. Your pantry does not need to be matching, or using the latest and greatest jars, or instagram ready.
Weigh your containers
Before filling your containers, weigh them first, and stick the weight label onto the container.
This allows the team to deduct the container weight from the overall weight at checkout. You only pay for what you are buying, not the packaging.
Bring your container - or use one in store
Any container that is clean, dry and suitable for the product your filling it with is good to use.
It can be glass, plastic, old or new. If you haven’t anything suitable, collect one of the cleaned recycled jars we have available, or buy a new one, lots of shapes and sizes available, including bottles for the oils and liquids.
If you don’t want those, use a paper bag, 3 sizes available.
Fill up with what you need
Find the product you want, all products are in sections, but if unsure just ask a team member where to find it.
Use the scoop, tongs or ladle to fill your container with the amount you require, no minimum quantities, not set weights, buy what you need.
All products have a code on the display label, write this on the container label or bag.
Make sure there are no mix ups of products, label your items clearly with details for your own safety.
Weigh and pay
Ensure all products have the code attached
When you have all your items, go to the counter, where the team will weigh your products and deduct the initial weight of the container.
Buy a Little or a Lot
When you are buying this way, there are no set weights, or sizes, or number of products, the customer has a choice
- Need a couple of teaspoons, or a couple of kg, buy what you need.
- Trying something new, just get a little to test.
- A pantry staple, get your supply to keep you going.
- The recipe requires 1 cup, buy 1 cup, save that packet sitting in the pantry taking up space and going bad.
- Going out and need to take some snacks, top up with a few different options.
- Small number of people, buy small quantities, large groups buy bigger quantities.
See What You’re Buying
As all the items are displayed in display bins or glass jars, the content is visible, see what you are buying. No packaging hiding the contents, no hidden surprises.
Less Unnecessary Packaging
You know exactly what packaging you are getting, not finding packets inside packets!
Refill the Containers You Already Own
No need to buy new jars or containers to start refilling, just ensure what you are wanting to use is clean, dry and suitable to the product you are wanting to fill it with. Refill them and reuse them, again and again.
